Kamisato Ayaka

Kamisato Ayaka is a 5-star Cryo character from the region of Inazuma that wields a sword in battle. As the first daughter of the Kamisato Clan, Ayaka takes her role as a noble woman very seriously. She first appeared within the main story in version 2.0.

Ayaka is known to be virtuous and graceful to everyone around her, including her attendants. Ayaka works together with her brother, Kamisato Ayato, to resolve any clan affairs. While Ayato is in charge of government affairs, Ayaka deals with the noble family’s internal affairs. Ayaka is known to be a perfectionist and is dedicated to anything she sets her mind toward. She truly cares about the people of Inzauma and wishes to help them. Although she isn’t the head of the family, her people regard her in a higher light than her brother due to her appearing at more social gatherings. However, she doesn’t have many friends due to her high social standing.

Kamisato Ayaka Skill Talents

Kamisato Ayaka is a great DPS character that can reliably deal Cryo DMG and apply Cryo to enemies. Her unique sprint allows her to move across the battlefield and over water.

ayaka dps build
Ayaka’s alternative sprint and infused Cryo attacks

Ayaka’s normal attack, Kamisato Art: Kabuki, will deal up to 5 rapid strikes with her blade. The 4th strike will deal the less amount of damage, but will deal damage 3 times. Her 5th strike will deal the most damage. Ayaka’s charged attack will consume 20 stamina to unleash her sword ki on the enemies. This attack will hit 3x times for each enemy in her range. Ayaka’s physical attack will also be converted into Cryo DMG after using her alternate sprint. It is recommended you build her as a Cryo DMG DPS since you will have to avoid sprinting with her to avoid the Cryo infusion if she is built as a Physical DPS.

Like Mona, Ayaka has an alternative sprint called Kamisato Art: Senho. In this form, Ayaka will cover herself in a frozen fog allowing her to easily move around the battlefield. Her Senho form also allows her to move across water, and can even create a platform for when she reappears above water. After she reappears from her Senho form, Ayaka will apply Cryo to nearby enemies and infuse her normal attack with Cryo DMG for 5 seconds. It does drain her stamina, but not drastically. She will lose 15 stamina per second while she is in her sprint form. It pairs well with her ascension 1 talent that will restore some of her stamina while giving her a Cryo DMG bonus.

burst build for akaya
Ayaka’s elemental skill

Ayaka’s elemental skill, Kamisato Art: Hyouka, summons an AoE of ice that will deal Cryo DMG to enemies while launching them up in the air. This skill has a cooldown of 10 seconds and will generate 4 element particles if it hits 1 enemy. The range of Ayaka’s elemental skill is decent and is also has a good damage output depending on its level.

ayaka burst build
Ayaka’s elemental burst

Ayaka’s elemental burst, Kamisato Art: Soumetsu, creates a storm of ice called Frostflake Seki no To that will move forward and deal Cryo DMG to the enemy. Every enemy it comes into contact with will be dealt slashes of Cryo DMG. At the end of the snowstorm, Ayaka’s burst will explode and deal additional Cryo DMG. It does have an energy cost of 80 and a cooldown of 20-seconds , so you will want another Cryo character on the team or Energy Recharge in her weapons/artifacts to counterbalance the long cool down and cost.

In co-op, Ayaka can act as a powerful Cryo DPS with her ability to infuse her attacks with Cryo and slice enemies apart with her Kamisato Art.

Kamisato Ayaka Passive Talents

best artifacts for ayaka genshin
Ayaka Talent Screen

Kamisato Ayaka’s passive talent, Fruits of Shinsa, gives her a 10% chance to obtain double the amount of items when she is used to craft weapon ascension materials. Overall, this talent will save you on farming for more resources, but it does have a low chance of activating so it shouldn’t be heavily relied on. Ayaka shares this talent with Albedo.

Ayaka’s ascension 1 talent, Amatsumi Kunitsumi Sanctification, boosts the power of her normal and charged attack after her elemental skill is used for 6 seconds. This talent boosts the DPS of her normal attack talent, and the only requirement is to use Ayaka’s elemental skill. Since her elemental skill has a cool down of 10 seconds, there will be a 4-second difference before this talent can be triggered again after the 6-second duration ends.

Ayaka’s ascension rank 4 talent, Kanten Senmyou Blessing, provides Ayaka with an 18% Cryo DMG Bonus for 10 seconds and restores 10 stamina after the Cryo application of her alternative sprint ends. This ascension talent can easily be activated as long as Ayaka has the stamina to go into her sprint form. The extra Cryo DMG will also help power up her elemental skill and burst. The stamina it restores is decent as it will recover the cost of entering into her sprint form, allowing her to enter into it again without worry.

Kamisato Ayaka gets a boost to her Crit DMG based on her ascension rank.

Kamisato Ayaka Constellations

Kamisato Ayaka Constellations

Kamisato Ayaka is already a powerful character at constellation 0 and her constellation levels aren’t essential to make her a viable character to use. Overall, her constellation levels do provide her a nice boost to her element skill, burst, and charged attack.

At C1: Snowswept Sakura, Ayaka can decrease the cooldown of her elemental skill by .3 seconds after using her normal and charged attack to deal Cryo DMG to an enemy. It does have a 50% chance to activate so it won’t always be triggered. However, Ayaka’s attacks are fast and can easily be infused with Cryo with the use of her alternative sprint.

C2: Blizzard Blade Seki no To allows Ayaka to create two smaller Frostflake Seki no To that will deal 20% of the original one’s power. Although it won’t deal as much damage as the original one, the additional ones will provide more range to deal damage to enemies not caught in the first one’s path.

C4: Ebb and Flow decrease the defenses of enemies that are damaged by Ayaka’s elemental burst Frostflake Seki no To for 6 seconds. This constellation will boost the power of Ayaka’s damage and her teammates as well. This is the only support Ayaka can give her team aside from applying Cryo to enemies.

At C6: Dance of Suigetsu, Ayaka gains Usurahi Butou every 10 seconds. This buff will massively increase her charged attack damage. However, this buff will reset if Ayaka hits an enemy. This constellation only affects her charged attack and will deal 1 powerful slash of sword ki. It can only occur every 10 seconds, which diminishes its use, but is still great to deal damage to the enemy.

Constellation LevelsEffects
C1: Snowswept SakuraWhen Kamisato Ayaka’s Normal or Charged Attacks deal Cryo DMG to opponents, it has a 50% chance of decreasing the CD of Kamisato Art: Hyouka by 0.3s. This effect can occur once every 0.1s.
C2: Blizzard Blade Seki no ToWhen casting Kamisato Art: Soumetsu, unleashes 2 smaller additional Frostflake Seki no To, each dealing 20% of the original storm’s DMG.
C3: Frostbloom KamifubukiIncreases the Level of Kamisato Art: Soumetsu by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C4: Ebb and FlowWithin the radius of Signature Mix, Diona’s charge time for aimed shots is reduced by 60%.
C5: Blossom Cloud IrutsukiIncrease the Level of Kamisato Art: Hyouka by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C6: Dance of SuigetsuKamisato Ayaka gains Usurahi Butou every 10s, increasing her Charged Attack DMG by 298%. This buff will be cleared 0.5s after Ayaka’s Charged ATK hits an opponent, after which the timer for this ability will restart.

Ayaka Cryo DPS

builds for ayaka
Ayaka Cryo DPS

This build for Ayaka focuses on dealing Cryo DMG with her normal attack. After using her alternative sprint, Ayaka will infuse her normal attack talent with the power of Cryo. The sprint can easily be used as long as Ayaka has stamina, allowing her to reliably deal Cryo DMG with her normal attack. You will want to max out her normal attack talent, and can also level up both her elemental skill and burst.

For Ayaka’s teammate, you will want good support characters that can provide buffs to increase her DMG. This example team can freeze the enemy while increasing Ayaka’s Crit Rate and elemental damage. Kazuha is a great support character that can increase a character’s elemental damage if he swirls with that Element. His elemental burst can also apply either Cryo or Hydro to freeze the enemy. Diona will serve as the main healer for the team and can provide a shield. While protected by her shield, characters will consume less stamina and have increased movement speed when Diona’s ascension 1 talent is unlocked. This will allow Ayaka to save her stamina while she is using her sprint. Lastly, you will need a Hydro character like Xingqiu that can apply Hydro to enemies. Shenhe is another great support character for Ayaka, as she can buff her Cryo DMG.

Ayaka’s recommended 5-star weapon is the Mistsplitter Reforged, which has a passive buff in Crit DMG and will increase Ayaka’s elemental damage. The Mistsplitter Reforged will also give her an additional elemental damage bonus based on the number of stacks of Mistsplitter’s Emblem she has. To obtain all 3 stacks of the Mistsplitter’s Emblem, you must deal elemental damage with your normal attack, cast your elemental burst, and have your energy less than 100%. Ayaka can easily trigger 2 stacks, and it will be difficult to obtain all 3 stacks as her burst has a high energy cost and cooldown. Each stack also has a time limit and will reset until it is activated again. Overall, this weapon will boost Ayaka’s Cryo DMG and Crit DMG. Other 5-star weapons will also work for her and will depend on her team composition. The Summit Shaper will boost Ayaka’s ATK, but requires a shield generator like Diona or Zhongli for it to be viable. I don’t recommend the Aquila Favonia, as its physical damage bonus will be useless when Ayaka gets her Cryo infusion.

Ayaka’s recommended 4-star weapon should be the Blackcliff Longsword, due to its Crit DMG bonus and ATK buff after defeating an enemy. Its passive renders its effect useless in a boss fight, but it will still increase Ayaka’s overall critical damage. This weapon can be bought from the shop. You can also use The Flute, which will increase Ayaka’s attack and deal ATK DMG when she collects 5 Harmonics by using a normal or charged attack.

The craftable 4-star Iron Sting can also be a good option. This weapon increases Ayaka’s Elemental Mastery and will increase all her damage after she deals elemental damage. This will boost Ayaka’s reaction damage in a Melt or Superconduct-centered team. In the early game, use the 3-star Harbinger of Dawn to increase both Ayaka’s Crit DMG and Crit Rate. The Cool Steel can also be used to increase Ayaka’s ATK and damage against enemies affected by Cryo or Hydro.

For Ayaka’s artifact set, the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer will give her a boost to both her Cryo DMG and Crit Rate against enemies that are affected by Cryo and frozen. This set, along with the Cryo team bonus, gives Ayaka up to 55% Crit Rate if the enemy is frozen. This will allow you to fully focus on Crit DMG, without having to worry about Ayaka’s critical chance.

Use the 4-piece Martial Artist in the early game to increase Ayaka’s normal attack and charged attack damage.

For Ayaka’s artifact stats:

  • Sands: ATK%
  • Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus%
  • Circlet: Crit DMG%

In the substats, look for ATK%, Energy Recharge, and EM. Energy Recharge is especially important if you plan to use her burst often, but the cost is minimized with another Cryo character on the team. Crit Rate is less important if you are using the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer.

Ayaka Main DPS

ayaka build genshin
Ayaka Main DPS Build

Like the first build, this Ayaka build focuses on her normal attack and increasing her Cryo DMG and ATK% permanently. This build can also work well in a variety of other teams since it doesn’t require the enemy to be frozen to be fully viable. This build can also be used as a burst build with slight modifications.

For her teammates, Bennett is an overall great support character with the ability to increase the team’s attack and heal at the same time. You can also use Mona whose burst will amplify the damage dealt to enemies. Xiangling will be used as a sub-DPS and can increase Ayaka’s attack by picking up the pepper from her elemental skill. Lastly, Sucrose will amplify the damage from the Melt reaction by sharing her elemental mastery with the team. Having two Pyro characters on the team grants the entire team Pyro resonance, which will further increase Ayaka’s attack stat.

Ayaka can make use of any 5-star weapon besides the Aquila Favonia because of the physical damage bonus. The 5-star Primordial Jade Cutter has a passive in Crit Rate and will also increase Ayaka’s Max HP. In addition, Ayaka’s ATK will gain an additional bonus based on her Max Health. This weapon is a solid choice for those with access to it. Ayaka can also make use of the Skyward Blade in a burst build because of its energy recharge passive and Crit Rate Buff. It will also provide a buff to Ayaka’s movement speed, attack speed, and normal/charged attack damage after she uses her burst.

For her recommended 4-star weapon, equipping Ayaka with the Black Sword from the battle pass will also boost her Crit Rate. The Black Sword’s skill increases Ayaka’s normal and charged attack 20%-40% depending on its refinement level. It will also heal Ayaka based on her ATK when she lands a critical hit. With the ATK increase with this build, Ayaka can heal back a good chunk of her health!

For craftable weapons, the 4-star Iron Sting is your best option. It increases Ayaka’s elemental mastery and boosts all her damage after dealing elemental damage.

The newest craftable weapon, Amenoma Kageuchi, is decent to use and has a passive in ATK . In its passive skill, Ayaka will gain a Seed of Succession every time she uses her elemental skill. This seed will last for 30 seconds, and up to 3 seeds can exist at one time. When Ayaka uses her burst, all the seeds will be consumed and Ayaka will regenerate energy based on the number of seeds consumed. This weapon is more suited for a burst build as the Seed of Succession only allows her to regain energy. Ayaka can also gather all three seeds in the span of 20 seconds as her elemental skill has a cooldown of 10 seconds.

Ayaka’s artifact set for this build is a 2-piece Blizzard Strayer and Shimenawa’s Reminiscence. You can also use a 2-piece Blizzard Strayer and Gladiator’s Finale. Both these sets will give Ayaka a permanent increase to her ATK and Cryo DMG. Since you won’t have the Crit Rate boost of the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer you will have to make up for it through Ayaka’s weapon and artifact stats. You can also use this artifact set for a burst build, but can also use a 2-piece Blizzard Strayer and Noblesse Oblige to further increase the damage of Ayaka’s burst.

Ayaka’s main artifact stats should be:

  • Sands: ATK%
  • Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus%
  • Circlet: Crit DMG% or Crit Rate

Look for Crit DMG, Crit Rate, ATK, and EM in her sub stats. Energy recharge can also work to maximize the use of Ayaka’s elemental burst.

Kazuha’s skill set allows him to make use of the Swirl reaction through his elemental skill and burst. He can infuse the enemy with either Hydro or Cryo for this build to freeze the enemy. He also has the ability to increase the elemental damage of the team by infusing his Swirl with that element.

Diona will provide a shield and heal the team. She can also be used to increase the Crit Rate against enemies affected by Cryo along with Ayaka. Qiqi can also be used to heal the team.

Xingqiu can apply Hydro to enemies with his Rain Sword. His elemental burst works great with Ayaka’s fast attack speed to constantly freeze the enemy when her attacks are infused with Cryo. His Rain Swords also provide additional damage reduction as they can heal the active character when they are destroyed.

Sucrose will boost the reaction damage of the team by sharing her elemental mastery. She can also act as crowd control to pull in enemies together, allowing Ayaka’s burst to hit them all. Venti can also be used as crowd control.

Bennett is a versatile support character that can heal and buff the ATK of the entire team. In addition to the support he brings, his skills also can apply Pyro to enemies, allowing Ayaka to trigger Melt.

Xiangling will activate the Pyro team resonance to increase the ATK of the entire team. She will serve as a sub-DPS and both her skill and burst will still be active even if she leaves the field. She can be replaced with another Pyro character like Hu Tao or Diluc.

AdvantagesDisadvantages
Ayaka’s alternative swift allows her to move across water and long-distance. It can also apply Cryo to nearby enemies and infuse her normal attack with CryoSprinting and using her charged attack will require players to be careful of their stamina consumption
Powerful burst damageElemental burst has a long cooldown and energy cost
Crit DMG bonus based on ascension rankPassive talent has a low chance of obtaining double the amount of items.

Conclusion

best weapon for ayaka
Ayaka’s story quest

Ayaka is Cryo DPS character with a powerful burst and ability to infuse her normal attack with Cryo. Her unique sprint allows her to move across the terrain and even over water! Ayaka’s skill set depends heavily on your ability to infuse her attack with Cryo and deal Cryo DMG. Her attacks are swift and powerful, but you will need to watch over her stamina consumption.
